And just like that summer is over and another amazing Fashion Month is about to start. After a quick stop in New York for some presentations and meetings, London was calling! It’s my second year doing the European fashion weeks and I couldn’t be more excited. Although Fashion Month can be really fun, it takes lots of organization, specially when planning the outfits. If there’s one thing that completes all my looks and that I never leave behind it’s a pair of sunglasses. This season, I partnered up with Maui Jim to show you that the view is better from London (Fashion Week) ;).
When it comes to my Fashion Week looks I’m all about mixing high and low’s pieces. I’ve been buying lots of vintage items here and there and I love to play around with them to give a personal touch to my #ootds. Color wise, I’m still in a monochrome or neutral mood but I will definitely try to give a chance to some red statement pieces this season. As far as accessories, I always wear the same layers of necklaces (I update it from time to time when I travel), a designer bag (in this case this Furla mini bag) and of course some sunglasses. You’ll never (ok never say never but you get it) see me without my sunglasses during Fashion Week because I really feel it’s the IT accessory any fashionista needs. I pick my pair of sunnies depending on my mood and on the vibe I want to create with my look – always picking small aviators when aiming for a casual cool outfit and a cat-eye frame when going for a more lady-like look.
For today’s look, I picked a business chic attire while focusing on different textures and prints. Checked blazers are everywhere this season (I got mine in a vintage store and I love how the fit is somehow different from all the other ones I saw in big department stores) and I paired mine with a striped blouse to give it a kick. Don’t be afraid to mix prints together this Fall – anything is possible! A pair of faux leather pants/leggings or trousers are also a must this Fall and they go so well with a pair of mules (add a pair of cool socks if the weather gets chilly). A fun statement bag and this pair of Maui Jim sunnies is the final touch to my outfit. I opted for the Sunshine style because I absolutely love the chic frame, the tortoise print and the beautiful golden signature on the sides.
Maui Jim is a sunglasses company from Hawaii that aims to brighten up your day with their PolarizedPlus2 lens technology to makes every colour and detail crisper and cleaner – all of this while keeping you safe from the bad UV rays that can cause eye damage. While I love wearing subtle tones in my looks, there’s nothing I appreciate more than seeing this colourful world we live in through my sunglasses. I am always on the go, traveling every week or so and the excitement I have when I visit a new city is still the same. From the pop of red in Oxford Circus (think busses and phone cabins), to the pastels houses in Nothing Hill, London is such a vibrant city!
