Amsterdam with Chic Retreats

November 9, 2017

Fall is not only my favorite season fashion wise but it’s also, in my opinion, the best time to travel in Europe. If there’s one city that’s absolutely magical during Fall, it’s Amsterdam. Think moody weather, an orange scenery with leaves everywhere, the smell of coffee in the little alleys and little boats cruising the canals filled with people keeping warm in chunky blankets – can’t get better than this! I had the chance to visit this beautiful city once again this year with the help of Chic Retreats while booking one of the most memorable stays at the Canal House.

If there’s one thing you need to take in consideration while booking your stay in Amsterdam it’s location.Β There is nothing like the feeling of waking up to those dreamy canals. The Canal HouseΒ is located in the beautiful area of Jordaan which is only steps away from all the main attractions in Amsterdam. The decor of the hotel is very glamourous and chic with touches of velvet and unique artwork. We were lucky enough to stay in an Exceptional Room where we enjoyed breakfast with a view (I’m still dreaming about those pancakes) every morning. Since Amsterdam has lots of rainy days in October, we were really happy to have such a cozy room where we could work on our laptops or even take the time to appreciate a delicious cocktail in the hotel lobby. My favorite way to explore the city is simply by getting lost in the numerous streets and canals and I loved to fact that you could rent a bike directly from the Canal House. I can’t lie, I’m still a little nervous when biking through the city but I feel like I’m getting better through each trip :P. Here’s what a typical day in Amsterdam looks for me (all activities are steps away from the hotel):

-People watching in the morning while enjoying a delicious cup of coffee at Ree7.

-Tourist moment visiting the Anne Frank House.

-Vintage shopping in the Nine Street District (the Episode store is one of my favorite!)

-Enjoy sunset on a private boat while exploring the canals by the water.

-Book a table at the new (and oh so delicious) Nacarat.

A huge thank you to Chic Retreats for making this little Amsterdam getaway one for the books! If you’re planning your next adventure, make sure to check them out as they have an amazing selection of hotels all around the World. I know how overwhelming it can get to simply look for the “best” hotel and I love that Chic Retreats is making everything easier by preselecting some of the coolest places to stay.
