7 Islas Hotel – Madrid

February 13, 2017

This is how my ideal Sunday looks like :). I spent last week-end at the 7 Islas Hotel in Madrid and already checking my calendar to plan my next getaway. Madrid has a special place in my heart. I just love the energy of this city so much! With so many good restaurants, unique shops and trendy hotels I might start looking for an apartment there sooner or later!

My overall experience in a city starts with my hotel stay. After my travels (in this case a roadtrip since Malaga is only a few hours drive away) I am looking forward to unpack and unwind in my room. I am always running around during the day and it’s very important for me to come back to a cozy yet aesthetically pleasant place. The location of the hotel is also a crucial feature because as much as I love walking, having a cute coffee shop next door is a must :). The 7 Islas Hotel is only steps (literally) away from Gran Via, the biggest shopping street in Madrid (but no worries the street of the hotel is very quiet and you won’t hear a thing). What impressed me the most when I checked-in was the modern lobby and bar. The space is very industrial looking with concrete floors and a minimal decor. On the other hand, our room was very bright with tones of wood and steel. Since the weather was mostly cloudy and rainy, we decided to have breakfast in our room and it was the ideal set-up.

We had lots of projects to do but we obviously took some time to check out some great restaurants. I get so many questions about my favorite joints so I will share some of my favorite places here :). In terms of good coffee shops – HanSo Café, Toma Café, Cafe Federal and Olivia te Cuida. Dinner plans? Check out Tatel, Habanera, Cannibal, Fismuler and El Perro y la Galleta.

What about exploring the city differently? The 7 Islas Hotel is also offering a bike rental service so you can go ahead and plan the coolest coffee crawl 🙂 Have a safe trip and don’t hesitate if you have other questions about Madrid xo
