Let’s start with this: 48 hours in Vienna is not enough. It was my first time in Austria and I was incredibly surprised to discover such a beautiful city rich in history and culture – the museum area left me speechless! I had the chance to stay at the Ruby Sofie Hotel and the location was ideal for our short getaway (only 2 mins away from the famous Hundertwasser Village). The Ruby Hotels are guided by a lean luxury philosophy which means leaving the glitz and glam away and focusing on laid-back comfort, well designed rooms and a friendly budget.
As soon as you enter to hotel lobby, you can see what the hype is all about – a very cool and vintage atmosphere where friendly staff and happy customers meet. I loved the bar and the lounge area where my boyfriend could relax while I was getting ready in the room ;). On the 5th floor you can find a meditation room (perfect if you’re stressed out all the time like myself) and a beautiful terrace. But I have to say the best part was the room – it was SO spacious! This time we were traveling with quite a few suitcases (4 to be precise) and we loved the fact that we didn’t have to play puzzle in the room to make everything fit. The bed was homely and since it was raining when we first arrived in Vienna, we did spend the entire afternoon working and napping in the comfort of our bedroom. Another great feature in the room was the bathroom section that had not only a walk-in all glass shower but also the most perfect dressing table with plenty of place to get ready before a date night. Least but not last, a “Galley Kitchen” is available on each floors and offers free hot drinks, an ironing station and amazing organic snacks so you don’t feel bad about your midnight cravings. I am already planning my next visit because Vienna is truly a gem!
